Chinese food as art in modern cooking

Chinese culture has been attracting attention for a reason for thousands of years since its inception. Its traditions are closely interconnected, with separate spheres of life intertwined. This rule remains true even during cooking. The process of cooking in Chinese cuisine is a tribute to the food itself, to your guests, to the owner of the house.

It is the Chinese who are famous for their ability to cook delicious food from literally nothing. Not only the main parts of fish or poultry are used, but also their giblets, bones, heads, and tails. And the result is the most spectacular dish, tasty and healthy! The Chinese diet cannot be called scarce, but there are several products that are used everywhere, regardless of the region.

The basis of nutrition

Crops such as wheat, soybeans, and rice have gained and continue to gain popularity. Most dishes are prepared on the basis of rice. Easy digestibility, richness in proteins, and many vitamins are not the only advantages of rice. More than 7,000 years have passed since its discovery and cultivation, and several dozen varieties have been bred. Rice has become the basis of dishes and is used to make vinegar, alcohol, and flour. Soybeans are no less popular, as they were cultivated a little later, about 3 thousand years ago. Sauce, cheese, flour, cottage cheese, milk – this is not a complete list of dishes made with soybeans.

And pork occupies a special place in the diet. Most dishes on the menu of any restaurant include this type of meat. In fact, vegetarianism is not accepted in China.

Approach to cooking

A variety of techniques, mixing of different products and heat treatments – cooking in Chinese cuisine is equated with art. Another approach is that any ingredient should be chopped, sliced, or torn. This allows you to retain the maximum amount of nutrients during the cooking process.

The right utensils

A separate niche of cooking in China is the choice of the right utensils. Most food is cooked in a wok, even if the dish is prepared for a large company, only its size increases. The special shape and high sides allow you to fry food as quickly as possible, bringing it to doneness but without losing useful vitamins.

An important point is the correct cutting. All ingredients used are cut the same way and fried, preferably in hot oil, for only a few minutes. The oil is then given a special flavor by frying spices and herbs.

Multi-component, simple, convenient, budget-friendly – it’s not difficult to prepare any Chinese dish. Most ingredients are prepared separately and combined only a few minutes before the end of cooking.

Serving is the main point of the meal

The Chinese pay special attention to the serving process. The dish itself should be easy and convenient to eat, look attractive and smell fragrant. Meals are eaten as leisurely as possible, and the Chinese slowly absorb their food, savoring every bite.
